Google Delays Release of Gemini AI
Google, a prominent leader in artificial intelligence development, has recently announced the postponement of its highly anticipated artificial intelligence model, Gemini AI. Despite its status as the next generation of artificial and multimodal intelligence, Google has chosen to delay the release until early 2024.
Gemini is touted as an artificial intelligence model capable of processing various types of data simultaneously. It is claimed to possess the ability to understand and generate text, images, and other content such as websites based on sketches or written descriptions.
According to reports from The Information, citing two anonymous sources familiar with the decision, the previously unannounced launch event, originally scheduled for next week in New York, Washington, and California, has quietly been rescheduled for early 2024.
The rescheduling is attributed to concerns that the AI may not reliably respond to certain commands and questions in non-English languages.
While not yet released for public use, Gemini is rumored to outperform OpenAI's GPT-4 due to its utilization of greater computational power.
Google already has its own generative artificial intelligence model called Bard, which is yet to gain the same consumer recognition as ChatGPT. Analysts, however, anticipate a shift in this situation when Gemini is eventually launched to the public.
